But Mr. Otis ignores his warnings. Thus, the American family of Mr. Hiram B. lives in the house, constantly taunting the ghost due to the indifference of these to the paranormal occurrences. Oscar Wilde The message tries to express through the book is concerned that the structures become typical of bourgeois materialism (Otis family), which, never surprised by the actions of the Ghost. Instead, try to "fight" using products (detergents, oil their chains), but his life is never altered, despite the efforts undertaken by the ghost.
